Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the papas! Most especially to our beloved Papang. Thank you for all the things that you have done for us. We may not be so showy and vocal, but please know that you are always the best and number one padir in our hearts. :)

happy father's day , pap! :)

Silver Lining

So I turned 25 on June 12, which happens to be the Independence Day in the Philippines. Celebrated it at home with Pap and watitiw. We were supposed to go to Ayala, but decided not to because of the heavy traffic jam. The government officials and some students had a parade and the main roads were temporarily closed. :)

But even if the celebration wasn't grand, I was at my happiest. :) I woke up seeing B's post on my fb wall and had a long talk on skype.I also received a surprise boquet of flowers from B's family. I couldn't thank them enough. I was also overwhelmed with all the well-wishes from my friends. Thank you all. :)

hambertdi! kampai! :D

I'm 25. I'm in my quarter life. I know I still have a lot of things to learn. For now I am thankful for all the blessings I received in my 25 years and I am very much willing to face another quarter knowing I am surrounded by God's gifts and blessings. :)

A short ceremony was done along with the Sunday mass to officially give him his christian name. I wasn't able to attend the mass because I was in the office ,but atleast I was able to eat the food they prepared. Haha. Just kidding. Stay healthy , Liam. :)

stop over at Agas-agas

These photos were taken on March 28, 2013

Everybody agreed to change the route on our way home and the changes gave us the opportunity to stop by at Agas-agas Bridge in Brgy. Kahupian, Sogod, Southern Leyte. They said that up to this date, this bridge is the tallest in the Philippines and was built to avoid the landslide dangers in the area during heavy rains.

With its tourism potential, they set up a viewing area.

public beach at Tangkaan, Southern Lete

These photos were taken on March 28, 2013

After resting for a few minutes from the climb, we headed straight to the beach in Tangkaan. The beach is about 30 minutes away from Hinunangan. We're lucky enough to have our own transpo. For those who don't have, they can take a bus or habal-habal to reach the place.

and yes, you read it right. a public beach it is. :)

mountains of Southern Leyte - Hinunangan

These photos were taken on March 28, 2013.

I was tagged along by my sister and her friends to climb the mountains of Hinunangan. Since it was Holy Week, we expected  a lot of religious people to go up the mountains and reach the top to lit a candle for what the locals believed as a miraculous image of a saint also known locally as San Francisco de Javier.

The trail is wide and not too steep which makes the climb easier than expected.

We've been here a couple of times already, but the view continues to amaze us.

Came across some dogs during our climb.

and when you start walking on a cemented path, you'll know you're halfway from reaching the top :)

at the top we climb

The chapel hasn't changed at all. This is how it looked like when I first came here several years ago.

almost halfway down the trail. I swear my knees were shaking during the descent.

Yay! After almost 3 hours of pure sweat, we made it through! Now we're ready for the next destination! :)

A short visit at the Basilica

A tour in Cebu is never complete without visiting Basilica Minore del Santo Nino. Even if I have been living in Cebu City for almost eight years now, I have never taken a single photo of the well known church. So last Monday, I decided to drop by to light a candle and take some shots.

Beside the church's patio is an area where you can lit a candle while praying.

Magellan's Cross.

Ferdinand Magellan was the first European to come to the Philippines in 1521. The original large wooden cross was believed to be his gift to Juana , the wife of Rajah Humaton, and to the followers who were baptised. Thus, the fist Catholic mass was held.

The original plan was to go to Lantaw Floating Restaurant in Cordova. Luckily, I came across a blog article featuring their branch in Busay. Just right on time because my friend from Japan is here for a short vacation.
