Parenthood

Lyndee just gave birth this morning. We're all glad to hear that she had a safe delivery. Everyone is just so excited to see her and even if Evan's family is not around, I'm pretty sure they are just as happy and excited as I am.

joy for everyone :)

Welcome to the outside world, baby Lyvannah Kei! We are all blessed to have you as a new member to the family. :)

stop over at Agas-agas

These photos were taken on March 28, 2013

Everybody agreed to change the route on our way home and the changes gave us the opportunity to stop by at Agas-agas Bridge in Brgy. Kahupian, Sogod, Southern Leyte. They said that up to this date, this bridge is the tallest in the Philippines and was built to avoid the landslide dangers in the area during heavy rains.

 jump!

With its tourism potential, they set up a viewing area.

public beach at Tangkaan, Southern Lete

These photos were taken on March 28, 2013

After resting for a few minutes from the climb, we headed straight to the beach in Tangkaan. The beach is about 30 minutes away from Hinunangan. We're lucky enough to have our own transpo. For those who don't have, they can take a bus or habal-habal to reach the place.

and yes, you read it right. a public beach it is. :)

mountains of Southern Leyte - Hinunangan

These photos were taken on March 28, 2013.

I was tagged along by my sister and her friends to climb the mountains of Hinunangan. Since it was Holy Week, we expected  a lot of religious people to go up the mountains and reach the top to lit a candle for what the locals believed as a miraculous image of a saint also known locally as San Francisco de Javier.

The trail is wide and not too steep which makes the climb easier than expected.

We've been here a couple of times already, but the view continues to amaze us.

Came across some dogs during our climb.

and when you start walking on a cemented path, you'll know you're halfway from reaching the top :)

at the top we climb

The chapel hasn't changed at all. This is how it looked like when I first came here several years ago.

an area beside the chapel where people lit their candles.

almost halfway down the trail. I swear my knees were shaking during the descent.

Yay! After almost 3 hours of pure sweat, we made it through! Now we're ready for the next destination! :)
